The posters are correct to tease. If the promised land for their sons are a college with an acceptance rate in the 60%-85% range (and both of the colleges called out by PP are at the high end of that range) then to each his own.

The PP is correct. College is the place a kid spends the final four formative years of youth to learn and mature as preparation for professional life. To sell it short for a college lacrosse roster spot at a school the average adult couldn't guess which state it is on given 3 guesses would be spurious. I worked in NYC for 11 years. Honestly the first time I heard of Wagner College was when their D1 lacrosse coach enquired about our son. I didn't know wherther to just laugh or want to hide in shame considering his club coach knows very well my son is a high level student and wants to go to a selective college, even it it means no lacrosse beyond high school.

Kids don't understand that. The lax bro morons in the club scene don't get it either. If they did, they wouldn't be 20-something club lacrosse guys living with their parents. Unfortunately the last line of defense before the parents, the D1 commit obsessed prep school coaches, don't get it either. Up to the parents now, 100%.
