My guess, and I could be wrong, is the idea was pushed by BB. She may have felt him growing more distant and was trying to please and hang onto him. It may have been a "birthday present."

See thread on here "My husband wants me to cheat" and all the posters pressuring an upset and uninterested OP to do it for her DH or at least "role play" c*ck scenes. Others posted they hire or engage stranger men for scenes.

The knife play is pretty extreme. Seems awfully coincidental that Joe raised it never having done it. Maybe it originated with BB somehow. I thought JR's friend said he had met the couple. That would happen before the scene/day of.

The whole scene in Herndon sounds incredibly chaotic. Cold BB was the puppet master then played hero. He wisely shut up while AP did not. How did she realistically think she'd get a work or student vista and just "take over" CB's life? 
 
Wonder if WP will do a story?

So CB and JR thought they were there for CONSENSUAL SEX that BB endorsed and claimed to have had a kink about them having.

Say JR tears off pjs, and makes scratches with knife. That would get his prints on it.

Then BB comes in and shoots him and directs AP to shoot to kill.

Then BB stabs CB in neck.

First 911 call made. Hang up.

Second 911 call made significantly later. Both victims alive, JR audibly moaning.

I bet BB used a 2nd knife of the same size and it was disappeared. Nice touch to have a knife with JR's fingerprints on it.
