[/quote] FACT CHECK: Just did a search of Fairfax County Public Schools Forum (on DCUM). Typed in "Jack Dale." Pages of messages without Dr.[/quote] Dp, I generally agree with the poster who said they only us Dr for medical doctors, but there are other specific positions and professions where using the Dr title is common. Superintendent is one of them. I grew up in a western state where our Superintendent was definitely referred to as Dr too. It may not be necessary to use the title on a message board like this, but it's not new or unusual *in general* to refer to a Superintendent with a doctorate by the title Dr.[/quote]
