I love this recent tweet by Walz. As a woman who is a mom because of IVF, I felt every word he wrote. Gov Walz tweeted: "Even if you’ve never gone through the hell of infertility, someone you know has. When Gwen and I were having trouble getting pregnant, the anxiety and frustration blotted out the sun. JD Vance opposing the miracle of IVF is a direct attack on my family and so many others." He showed in a personal way how reproductive freedom for women is not just an issue for women, it's an issue for everyone, and one that one that can affect men who want families too.
+1
+1 My cousin wanted desperately to have children. They had a hard time conceiving so they did IVF. She got pregnant, and they were overjoyed. Then, the unthinkable happened. At 23 weeks, they found out that the baby had a life threatening deformity and would only live a few days after birth in pain. Luckily, they live in a blue state, so they aborted the baby. They were devastated. Really heart broken. Within a year, they used IVF and got pregnant again. They now have a healthy happy baby and are trying for a second using IVF. If MAGA want people to have children, then why would you make IVF and access to maternal care harder?
No access to abortion if you don't want to have a baby, no access to IVF if you can't have a baby, being horrified by free access to tampons for kids that can't afford them. There is only one theme - hating women and girls and pushing them down to remind them they are second class. They obviously don't "want people to have children" or they would support paid family leave, free Pre-K for low income kids, and other supportive policies.
