The jerky comments tend to come right when the thread starts to unwrap something significant. Like a potential financial impropriety. Makes you wonder, huh?
This 100%. I want to team up a forensic accountant with an investigative journalist and do an expose regarding 'charity brokers in the faith space'. See where exactly the money goes and doesn't go. Start with Pure Charity and then to The Legacy Collective.
Yep—. I was there at the first (or one of the first) discussions by Brandon at church about this deal. I welcomed the conversation and help talked a good game, but I couldn’t help but to keep thinking — “What is the advantage of them taking my money and then investing it for me with a worthwhile charity?” Why not just endorse the good ones or give a list or something. I just always had a hard time with knowing that there had to be some dough skimmed off the top for administrative fees and such…. It just seemed like a total boondoggle the more I though about it. Why does there need to be this “middle-man”? Nothing I’ve seen since has convinced me otherwise. I mean, it’s good work if you can get it but it’s fishy af to me.
