Project 2025 is so bad that Elon and the RWNJs spent millions and made up an entirely fictional Democratic “Progress 2028” (why 2028?) to try to counter it and pin unpopular policies on Harris. [twitter]https://x.com/nicoleperlroth/status/1847048562905174261?s=46&t=kf1qYlCXQnKgUhJWEIu2vg[/twitter] https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2024/10/pro-trump-dark-money-network-tied-to-elon-musk-behind-fake-pro-harris-campaign-scheme/
Weird. Bannon’s maxim lives on. Flood the zone with s**t so that voters don’t notice the treason and the grift. Trump has promised Musk something that Musk wants very badly.
An internet theory about that is that Musk has broken laws, serious ones, the kind that even the uber wealthy can’t always wiggle out of, and that having a corrupt administration would make it all go away. Which is really what the GOP is promising with Project 20205: grift and corruption, a banana republic baked into the government. They really want to have to pay to play and they want to go back to companies dumping tons of poisonous ash into people’s backyards with no way to fight back. They want women powerless, they want Black people helpless and desperate and scared. I’m not sure who thinks the vision the Christian nationalists are painting is so seductive because it sounds like hell to me.
