I am a former HS and low level college coach that has moved on to a second career. I love watching these two leagues compete. So many great players, who will excel at the college level. Below is my all-star team across WCAC and IAC. One man's opinion formed by in-person viewing, streams, hudl etc. It is based on this HS season. Not IL rankings, club circuit film etc. Good luck in playoffs to all the kids. Attack - Han (GP), Mackey (GC), Hawkins (Landon) Mid - Gilmore (PVI), Keuhl (Bullis), Demarinis (GC) SSDM - Wade (Bullis) LSM - Mathura (Landon) Defense - James (SJC), McGlone (Prep), Cronin (SJC) FOGO - Reposa (Prep) Goalie - Inzer (SJC) Area Positional Rank for 2026 (Depth of Talent) 1. Midfield 2. SSDM 3. LSM 4. Def 5. Attack 6. Goalie 7. FOGO POY (playoffs can change this; but most college and pro sports do awards before playoffs, so figured why not) WCAC - Gilmore - Leads best offense in area; physical, athletic dodger; gets a ton of attention from other teams. Made massive plays in the biggest games. Change of direction gets him space. Runner- Up - Inzer IAC - Keuhl - Nobody gets more defensive attention from other teams than him, and it's not close. Classic two way. Doesn't force it. Goals, assists, GB's, CTO's every game. Excellent vision for a downhill dodger. Runner Up - Han
It feels like this either pushing kids you know or following hyped up commits. I agree with other commenters that lis is SJC biased. Gilmore is good enough but maybe not quite POY. Inzer might not even be the best option in goal at SJC. He got lucky to commit before colleges realized he was only mediocre. He is solid but not a gamer. James (SJC) is a penalty waiting to happen and not first team caliber. DM’s fogo would merit consideration if the team wasn't so lousy. DeMarinis is other possible POY if they can extend their season.
