I don’t interpret that remark as an admission but as a joke. He’s joking that his HS grad daughter made him promise that   he won’t  ever date women younger than her. [/quote]

I hope you understand that most adults would not find that funny — or a joking matter. I’ll add though, that my sense of this might be somewhat skewed by decades spent as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse.
