They do not charge him for shooting first because, in this case, this was self-defense. Since JR was disabled after the first shot and not more of a direct threat, the second shooting is considered murder. BB should be responsible for ordering her to get a gun, and she is guilty of shooting the men dead if this is what truly happened. But it looks like BS. My theory is that she shot first with her gun. As planned. He then shot to kill him with his work gun because since he didn't get killed with the first shot, she probably got scared and called the police too soon. They agreed to lie to the authorities. And thus the confusion. Poor little girl who was at the house. I wonder if she saw or heard anything. I hope they both get to spend long time in prison and the girl stays with her beloved mother's family.
The girl's mental health is going to be seriously screwed up regardless -- now that she's become attached to BB as her sole parent, having already lost her own mother AND the woman who stepped into the mother's place (AP). She probably has distant memories of her maternal grandparents and the longer it takes to put BB in jail, the more traumatic it is going to be to re-home the girl with the maternal relatives she no longer knows. That's the heartbreaking part. I can be patient and wait for BB to get his justice even if it takes some years for AP to flip while sitting along in jail. But, every single day that passes, the little girl is being harmed by not having contact with the maternal relatives who will eventually have to care for her. That's a lot of psychological trauma -- for a girl to have to live with people she doesn't know and losing the father who acts as though he is the only one who loves her. Wicked torture for a child/teen.
