It's like they know what they're doing is stupid and atrocious, but they can't help themselves.  They're convinced somehow that "uneducated whites" will somehow stumble across this thread and be sad that someone with a $700HHI has committed to taking up heirloom gardening?   The delusion that anyone gives  a cr@p about them (or their HHI) is strong.  Like a petulant teen that didn't get their way and has now scribbled "I hate my parents" all over their room.

It's the American way, and it won't have any impact whatsoever on future elections.  Repubs got the White House in the usual way.  Maybe they'll be able to replicate it, maybe they won't, but nothing we say here will affect that one way or the other.

At who's extent?  Surely not mine, and probably not most of the posters on this board, very few of whom, I would hazard to guess, fit into the category of "broke, uneducated whites".

It will absolutely have an impact on the future elections.  And it had a big impact on THIS election, the smugness and out-of-touchness is EXACTLY what lost you the election, and most of the political analysts, even on the left, have admitted it.

But, sure, don't learn.  For me, someone who is firmly outside of the group you're mocking, it's downright amusing to see you all acting like such... boneheaded jerks.  And putting it all on a public listserve. And confirming exactly what the groups who decided this election think of you.

You know what's fun?  I've lived in the rural South, and I've lived in the industrial Midwest.  I've drunk moonshine and been to deer camp.

I know your compatriots--I've lived with them, been to church with them, and been in their homes.  I KNOW exactly who you've associated yourself with, with much more clarity than you do, I suspect.

They didn't vote against smugness or condescension--simply a false narrative.  In a grand old tradition going back to William Jennings Bryan and generations of huckster tent revivals, they got hoodwinked by a snake oil salesman.
