I wonder why so many people who immigrate to the US come to Montgomery County. Not to knock MoCo, but I can think of so many other places in this country that are more affordable, have less crime, and would be easier to transition to. Maybe there are more resources for the Hispanic community; I don't know... But MoCo is pricey and not an easy place to move to.
I guess you haven't heard of the corrupt Casa De Maryland? That is why illegal immigration is #2 in Montgomery County, MD right after Los Angeles County, CA.
Yep and our schools will be like LA's too if this Council doesn't wake up. The only thing they are afraid of is angry voters and term limits.
This is such bollocks. MoCo is not #2 in the number of illegal immigrants. Counties in AZ, CA, TX, etc.. have way more than MoCo. Even Fairfax VA has more illegal immigrants than Moco. Get your facts straight. I'm from CA, btw, grew up in LA. http://www.migrationpolicy.org/programs/us-immigration-policy-program-data-hub/unauthorized-immigrant-population-profiles http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/03/28/states-with-the-most-undocumented-immigrants/
I love how you throw out some random articles that actually prove you are wrong and not right. 1. MC is the #2 where illegal immigrants are fleeing to right now. 2. Arizona has had a huge decrease in the last 0-9 years because of laws put in place. Only one county in AZ has more illegal aliens than MC but that county (Maricopa) has a 4 million population to our 1 million. So technically we have almost 10% illegal alien population to their 4.5% and they are right by the border!!! Same with Harris County, Tx and other huge counties. The number looks big but the percentage isn't there. And the ones that are close to 10% have had an actual decrease while MC has had an increase in the last 0-9 years. 3. MC is a sanctuary county in a sanctuary state. We have Case De MD, government services, reduced tuition, free drivers licenses for illegals, etc... 4. MC still has a higher percentage of illegals than FC. It is not actual numbers. It is % of county population. Overall the state of Virginia has a very small percentage and can overall absorb it better than MD. 5. Your links are outdated and only show illegal immigration from either Central American or Asian countries. We have a huge illegal population from the middle east in the last few years that other states like Texas, Ca, Az do not have. 6. And most importantly, once you take into consideration the actual population of a state to the population of illegals within that state, California is the only state that beats out MD and we are basically tied with Texas. And once again, here we are miles and miles away from a border while Tx and Ca sit right on it. You do realize your poll from the Blaze was just actual numbers within a state and not the percentage, correct? Huge concerns here and the articles and chart by the OP proves it. Montgomery County is harboring an illegal alien population of 10% right now and the numbers are not slowing down. Md is in big trouble.
You hit the nail on the head. Our once good and well run school is overflowing with immigrants. Our principal says there are so many kids coming in the past two years and there is no where to put them. The school is running on reputation right now but it won't last much longer if this keeps up. And current policy says it will. It wasn't this way when my kid was in Kindergarten. This rush of multitudes of kids is new. The Principal did not specify where the kids are coming from but one look at my child's class and it is clear as day what is happening. The classes are stuffed with Spanish speaking kids with very little to poor English skills. Most are new arrivals in the past 2 to 3 years. My kid is begging to go to a private school so he can get time with the teachers whom he says focus on the spanish kids to the exclusion of the others because those kids need more help. They are beginning to outnumber the natural born citizens in every class. We don't want our kids isolated in a private school, away from their community (these kids are bused in) but we are not seeing any other options except to move. MD needs to crack.down on illegal immigration and send them packing elsewhere. If we don't, the people with means are going to pack up and leave and the tax base is going to evaporate. The ship is sinking and Montco seems to be doing it to the citizens purposefully. Soon Montco will be a welfare state.
