So you don't get that Trump has built his legitimacy for the Presidency on the business acumen he claims to have. He also claims to have created thousands of jobs, and if he can do it in the private sector, he can lead as president. But whoops, he managed to bungle making money in a regulated industry to the tune of a Billion dollar loss. In that process, he stiffed thousands of workers they paychecks in the construction of the casinos and then closed the casinos, costing additional jobs both directly and indirectly. What he did to Atlantic City is a poster for what he would do to the United States.

So yes, what he did was perfectly legal, but it undermines the entire house of cards his campaign has been predicated on.

I would also add that there is no validation that the loss he claims is accurate, and thus no validation that the carry-over losses are valid.
