This shit has all got to be the same person.

So weird how people seem to have serious issues (whether they admit it or not) with the fact that being Jewish is BOTH a religion and a distinct ethnic identity, since Jews were historically not allowed to assimilate into other states in which they lived. Its like some Christians seem to think that when Jewish people assert this and that Christians can't assert the same thing that they feel slighted, like they feel like they need to say "you aren't special, my religion is the same as yours, just as important". Which, sure, dogma is dogma but its just not the same. Its not, you are talking about a person's ethnicity. If they are also moderately  religious then its nearly impossible for Jews to separate the two and they shouldn't have to. And for some reason this bothers some Christians deeply. Christianity, whichever sect is separate from ethnicity of its practitioners. Some things are not apples to apples. It reminds me of the knee jerk "all lives matter" for some reason.

FWIW, I'm an athiest, I find Judaism (the religious portion strictly) to be just as sort of unbelievable as Christianity, Scientology, Paganism, all the eastern belief systems (yes, I know them and the difference, but trying to not list everything), Greek and Roman gods, et al.[/quote]
