Amber was arrested for assaulting/domestic violence her girlfriend in 2009. Just released...
I saw that. Curiouser and curiouser.
She also had a forensic specialist authenticate the text messages that essentially prove her story. I know Johnny Depp is beloved but she has a lot of pretty hardcore evidence. All he has is his friends saying they could never believe it (and people on his payroll saying it didn't happen that way). And the girlfriend issued a statement saying that incident wasn't as reported and charges were never filed/amber never prosecuted. Although I'm not sure it really matters, she could have had a domestic incident with a girlfriend in the past and still have been beaten up by Depp, not mutually exclusive.
No she doesn't. She has a police report citing no injuries and the cops have reaffirmed that there were no injuries on the night she claims he hit her. She also has a now deleted Instagram pic from the next day that doesn't show any bruising.
She has witnesses photos and texts. What more do you want? And it is more subtle but there is also the fact that this is a major A-list movie star who most of hollywood will support de facto (and some in hollywood will aggressively support because he is their meal ticket like disney who doesn't want to launch pirates 5 next year with a wife beater). And the fact that every witness who comes out and supports Amber who is in the business, (like her friend talking about why she called 911 http://www.etonline.com/news/190431_amber_heard_friend_who_called_911_speaks_out_on_alleged_abuse/) is putting their careers in danger by supporting her and going against the machine. Meanwhile the only people on Depp's side are either on the payroll (and therefore have clear incentive to take his side, old costars who can't imagine him doing this or his family who have both a financial and an emotional incentive to support him. The guys has a known substance abuse problem and a history of volatile relationships before Vanessa Paradis. So what is more likely, an addict with impulse control problems clearly going through a midlife crisis having some violent outbursts or a woman fabricating tons of evidence, producing lying witnesses and the most celebrity friendly magazine on the planet going against one of the biggest celebrities in hollywood solely on a b-list actresses' word? If it makes you feel better Amber probably was also a gold digger. But being a gold digger and being a victim of abuse aren't mutually exclusive. And abusing someone is illegal.
Amber also has a police record and was accused of but not convicted of domestic violence - Johnny was not. Amber's friend who was on the phone could say anything - just like Johnny's character witnesses. The texts have not been verified by the phone company. Amber may or may not partake in drugs as well. It's been speculated. Addict does not equal violent domestic violence abuser. Cmon.
You c'mon. Amber's police record is completely irrelevant. It happened before they were even together and her ex has publicly come out and said the incident was misconstrued. Depp has never accused Amber of physical violence. I imagine the phone company verification will be incoming, insanely stupid to put something out there this publicly that you're lying about that is verifiable. Entertainment Tonight and People published those texts, not US Weekly, not National Enquirer, not Daily Mail. Those, while not hard journalism, are not tabloids. Amber partaking in drugs is also irrelevant. Because she hasn't been accused of violence. I'm sorry if your childhood fantasies of Depp are being ruined but you know, its not cool to beat up women. Even if you're a beloved movie star.
Amber HAS been accused of violence. She has a POLICE RECORD for DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Do you know how that works? There has to be files charges and some type of incident for that to happen regardless of whether or not she was convicted (i.e. OJ). In line with Depp never accusing Amber of violence - none of Depp's exes have accused HIM of violence - see how that works? Amber's ex DID accuse her of violence then later recanted... Misconstrued or not something DID happen and so much so that the police were involved. People can and do change their stories and we have no idea if Amber's ex isn't being paid or has't been offered money. Insanely stupid to put something out there, yes, perhaps Amber doesn't understand how technology works, especially since the assistant in the texts has said he would testify in court under oath he never saw Johnny be violent to Amber and he did not send those messages (i.e. they are fake/doctored). I have no fantasies of Depp, Amber just screams "Heather Mills" to me. Why not keep this matter private and deal with the police as opposed to sending texts to tabloids and going to TMZ route? It seems people who suffer abuse may want their privacy and to heal, not to be in the news.
I don't think YOU understand. Or you are being purposefully obtuse. If someone murders someone on day A and is then murdered themselves on day B. The person who murdered them doesn't get a free pass just because they murdered a murderer. I personally don't put much in whatever happened between Amber and her ex since the ex has such positive things to say about her (and how often does that happen really), but even if I give you that she abused her terribly for their entire relationship it doesn't mean Depp can beat Amber up. That isn't how it works. Depp has never been accused before. Amber has been accused before. Therefore Depp cannot have hurt Amber. What is the actual logical thread there? Because I'm not seeing one. You are linking two completely irrelevant facts to draw an irrelevant conclusion. Her relationship history has no bearing on how he treats her. His relationship history may at the most show a tendancy, but google Depp/Winona to see that he has in fact had quite volatile relationships in the past. Celebrities are protected. You think Mel Gibson was always a super nice guy before the meltdown? Or that he was protected? Amber, BTW, has not gone the TMZ route, TMZ is clearly team Depp and working closely with their publicists. She has told her side of the story to People. And if I were about to go up against a major celebrity who abused me I would be on the defensive to. I don't understand why people think this should be kept quiet. Abuse is only bad if the victim takes it and quietly sits in the corner waiting for someone else to avenge them???? If you stand up and go after the ahole who knocked you around you're a fame whore?
