People tends to be pretty reliable. I can't imagine them publishing something without it being legit as their bread and butter is doing celebrity fluff stories and they count on celebrities trusting them to not throw them under the bus unless they're SURE.
Tends to be? Seriously? I could pay any expert enough money to vouch for me and they would... and your computer syncs with your phone regardless if you make changes to texts, it just updates the texts on the computer. She'd have to verify through the phone company and the assistant has already said the texts were fakes and he would testify in court under oath to that. Why lie? This entire case is stupid.
What is interesting is that People is siding with Amber this early and not huge megastar Johnny Depp? That seems out of character for the mag.
Character? Its about whose publicist is paying for the coverage.
I'm the original PP who said People is reliable. While they certainly aren't hard hitting journalism they are also not the Enquirer. They are the trusted celebrity platform who generally get information straight from the source. Who always gets baby pictures? Its never Us or some other crap magazine, its People. And People trades on having really good relationships with really big celebrities so they can be the trusted source for them to get their story out when there is a divorce/baby/marriage whatever. The fact that they are choosing Team Amber DOES say something, because in the long run its better for People to have a relationship with Johnny Depp (big famous celebrity with big famous friends) than to have a relationship with B-list nobody Amber Heard. So I'm thinking People did their due diligence on this one because celebrity happy bs is their bread and butter and they don't want to trade away future possible pictures of Lily Rose Depp's wedding with her Dad walking her down the aisle unless they're sure he's a fuck up and that story is better. I think People probably knows Amber is right purely from a capitalist perspective of them evaluating how much this issue will sell compared to the bridges burned by flaming depp.
