A 7k mortgage payment would be less than 1/3 of your hhi, and you'd probably be able to take a home mortgage deduction now that the SALT cap was adjusted as well. You aren't "stuck" in your townhouse; with a Covid interest rate I'd probably stay there, but that is not the same as "stuck." [/quote]
