There are student-priced tickets. The Music School's performance calendar is at smtd.umich.edu. It's hard to predict how to make a career out of a music degree so I can't advise there. Just wanted to say that I can attest to rich exposure to music events at Michigan. Physics for what career goal? My dad is a Physics PhD. Grad school is often needed to get a job.
