The email is fine. You all love to complain about everything. It is a nightmare job.
Yep there is absolutely nothing wrong with his email.
There’s plenty wrong with it
+1 Sends a terrible message that he dgaf and won't listen to anyone
I think he means he won’t listen to chronic cranks such as the Mad Mommies of MoCo who are always Big Mad. Which is fair. They lack credibility and their feelings aren’t valid.
It was clear he meant he won’t listen to State Senator Cheryl Kagan. He thinks she lacks credibility and her feelings aren’t valid. She is also a very powerful State Senator. Let’s see how that works out for him.
Correct. He’s also now picked a fight with Education & Culture Committee member Kristin Mink: https://bethesdamagazine.com/2026/02/27/mcps-district-rules-immigration/
This is not picking a fight. This is actually doing his job to keep students and schools a safe place to learn. I wouldn't mix this issue with the boundary/closing issue. They are not remotely alike.
How is it not picking a fight when Kristin clearly says she felt targeted by Taylor’s letter, and was disappointed and taken aback by it? She also vowed to keep doing the Know Your Rights sessions and showing up at schools. So she and Taylor are in open conflict now. This is literally a fight now between 1 of 3 people on the E&C Committee, who decide how much to fund MCPS, and Dr. Taylor. Dr. Taylor would have been much better off having a direct meeting with Mink and her team about his concerns rather than doing a general, passive aggressive letter attacking her and then having your PIO deny it was directed at her in the first place, as if she and the rest of the public are too dumb to see that he’s lying.
Is it "picking a fight" any time anybody does something that somebody else doesn't like? Maybe she "picked a fight" with him by giving operational advice to MCPS employees? That letter was professional and cordial. It didn't "attack" anybody. Did you even read the letter? "I am writing for two reasons, because I need your help: (1) – I want to share information about what the school system is doing about immigration enforcement, and (2) – to update you on guidance the school system shared with elected officials about school visits in February 2023 (before I came back to MCPS)." https://montgomeryperspective.com/2026/02/25/taylor-sets-boundaries-for-elected-officials-at-mcps-schools/ Again, not EVERYTHING the man does has to be a terrible thing. And painting it like that undercuts the credibility of those who oppose the bad things he is doing.
You are ignoring the fact that Mink perceived the letter as an attack, stated as much and expressed disapproval of Taylor’s approach. This is not MY opinion. This is the opinion of an elected official who felt targeted by him and has now responded, which indeed makes it a conflict. Why are you struggling to read and comprehend?
I am concerned about Taylor trying to bottleneck council members visits to schools. If you have derelict facilities and you are getting nowhere with the school district (that tends to hide problems), then visits from council members are helpful. Now, principals will be threatened into shutting these down. Taylor, with more big brother control.
