I have no more insight into VT admissions than your local skunk. I have huge sympathy for in-state students with first rate ability who absolutely wanted VT because it meets their interests and talents.

All the folks writing how shocked they are with results don’t say if their kid would actually have gone. Many have their sights set on something else; they just expected the admit.

My guess is VT is saving some seats for other regions of the state.

They are have also been expanding class size, which isn’t all great bc housing is becoming a high profit private enterprise. To be fair, this is true at other universities too.

Kid was waitlisted for business.

VT is their top choice.  They have other great options, but are bummed today.  VT was the one.[/quote]

Don't give up hope. Many OOS kids accepted will end up declining and will open up many more spots![/quote]
