True patriotism is about action.  It's something you have whether you choose to fly a flag or not.  It's why other countries fund us obnoxious.  My first thought when I see flags flying in a house is fool.  Not because I'm anti American but because the desire to showcase the flag to prove how patriotic you are is just silly.

In your case I get it but random houses lining a street that fly huge flags I don't.

Esp now, when Trump has made us the laughing stock of the world.  I'm sad we have let our country become this horrifying and no way am I going to want to talk about being proud of my country. We have to earn that pride and I don't think we have by electing the biggest moron to date as our leader. I'm embarrassed to be traveling around the world as an American and unless you are MAGA you should be too.  Being embarrassed is not the same as hating this country however.  It's being real.
