This is part of the reason why we are where we are as a nation and as a society. Unless it affects people directly, people just don’t care. We’ve lost our empathy. Our humanity. Our collective responsibility to help be the voice of the voiceless.

+1000.  I am so sick and tired of the right wing "Christian nationalists" who literally go 180 degrees against everything Christ taught.

Christ taught empathy, he commanded us to look after refugees and the sick and the poor and the hungry.  The GOP teaches hate and selfishness and greed and kicking out refugees and turning your back on the sick and the poor and the hungry and to mock and demonize them for their poor fortune in life.  They are the exact opposite of Christians.[/quote]

Hate to say it, but Christians turned their back on Christ two millennia ago. It’s been a grift and a power play ever since. If you believe the scholars, Paul was the first to do it.
