of the big 3 (ML, NL &DCE) teams only about 15 players will get to play at a serious college program the rest will play at D3 schools they never would have considered going to, college club or not pls in college at all. I
How is that a problem. Isn't up to the player and his parents to decide whether playing at the D3 level is worth it. And regardless of that view, I'd argue a majority of D3 programs recruit looking for kids that play on club teams. Very few are looking at school only players.
It seems you are the problem. These kids are not traveling around the country while spending massive amounts of cash to play D3. D3 is a nice landing pad however it is not anyone’s goal.
Stupid take. This isn’t a D1 vs D3 football or basketball debate. We’re talking about lacrosse. There are a ton of DMV families who have kids playing club lax and aspire to play in college who absolutely choose top D3 schools over D1. No one is taking an offer to play at 75% of D1 schools (looking at you Siena, Mercer, St Bonaventure, Robert Morris’ etc) over an opportunity to play at a Tufts and/or other top D3 lax programs with high academic reputations
You are lying to yourself. No child is aspiring to play D3 anything. They are D3 players and just come to grips with it and that is ok.
every kid is different. take a deep breath and think about how poorly you are coming across.
Perhaps, just perhaps, these kids in 7th and 8th grade get into the Club vortex hoping to play at Duke or Princeton. But alas, they don’t get one of those coveted spots at either one, and they end up playing at Bowdoin or Tufts or Williams or one of the other little Ivy’s. Either way, they may have wanted to play in the ACC, but still ended up having an incredible opportunity to play at a D3 school and get a degree that is literally 10x more coveted than 80% of the “D1” programs like the ones a PP mentioned.
