what death spiral?  My son is on the 2028 Black team and as far as I can tell the team is is doing great.  It has been playing in great tournaments this summer and current fall, winning most of its games, and is stronger than its two local competitors (NL and ML) in the 2028 class.  In addition to all the usual fall tournaments they have done private showcases at Maryland, Penn, and Princeton, they are going to IMCLA in Orlando next month to coincide with the NCAA coaches' convention, they had a very informative presentation on recruiting at the start of the fall, and have a recruiting information session coming up with the head coach at Richmond.  My understanding is that most of the 2026's are committed to good schools, including a late commit to Duke.  My son is expecting that he and most of his 2028 teammates are on track to get recruited as well.  am I missing something?
