Our biggest tell is that I'm a car enthusiast and I want to buy a cool/fun car which would be hard to hide.  And I can't exactly tell people "yeah, this cost me less than 10% of my annual income" without being super obnoxious.

We'd like to maintain a subtle lifestyle and we're definitely not into telegraphing our good fortune.  But at the same time, being artificially subdued about it by abstaining from something I find joy in naturally seems inauthentic and a waste of my one lifetime.

At the end of the day, I think it's pretty obvious who is just enjoying what they enjoy and who is trying to promote an image to impress others.  We all know it when we see it.[/quote]
