https://www.jobs.now/ Companies employing H-1B foreign workers seeking a green card are required to advertise roles to American-born workers, but those job ads in local newspapers are allegedly targeting immigrants instead. "Americans are not aware that major companies are routinely discriminating against them for the simple fact of being Americans in their own country," the team behind Jobs. Now, a website seeking out H-1B roles to share them with Americans, told Newsweek on condition their identities were kept anonymous. https://www.newsweek.com/h1b-job-ads-green-cards-targeted-immigrant-workers-2113714 A mysterious new job listings website recently went live, solely showing roles companies want to offer to their H-1B holders seeking Green Cards in an attempt to get Americans into the jobs instead. [twitter]https://x.com/JobsNowPR/status/1970450672970608904[/twitter] https://www.jobs.now/
It is not true that companies are discriminating against American workers in favor of H1Bs. Sure you can find cases of individual managers especially at smaller companies doing that but generally it is not the case. However, I don’t think companies are making real efforts to find a similarly qualified American worker when an H1B is available. It is an on/off switch, either they don’t do H1Bs at all or they treat them exactly same as Americans, and they shouldn’t. For that reason, I think $100k fee is actually a great idea for big banks and tech. If anything, I think it is too low. It is a different story for academics, doctors, etc and they shouldn’t have different rules
   You are as confused as TACO. H1B hiring has made America rich and competitive. Getting cheap stuff manufactured in China made American companies rich and competitive. Did American workers lose out? Sure. They were not trained and they are ill-educated. So they became obsolete. We don't need those poorly educated now except to win elections. Other than that...hopefully, no vaccine, no healthcare, no medicaid, no medicare, no social security, no reproductive rights for women, no tylenol, trade tarriffs, resurgent opioid crisis, rising cost of food, housing crisis, mental health issues - will see their numbers diminish. Also, we are sitting on a powder keg of heavily armed country and every day we have a mass shooting. Give popcorn to everyone - because we have billions of dollars of corn left unsold.
Maybe the MAGAs can get jobs fashioning traditional corn cob pipes and straw hats.
