I will not judge grieving families. But personally, I believe this person is a sociopath who feels no empathy or sympathy or any emotional connection to anyone. So any displays of emotion by his victims or victims' families just plays out to him as an interesting scientific experiment. I believe this man murdered because he was fascinated by crime and he wanted to experience what it felt like, given that he's spent a life not feeling anything like normal people. He's going to write a book in jail and it's going to sell. Finally, if I had been a parent of a victim, I would not have given him any emotion, negative or positive. It would only be contributing to his real-life experiment.
Why these particular people, though? Thoughts?
DP here. I believe the incel theory. There is no evidence to suggest Kohberger had any non-family female relationships. There is evidence he followed Maddie and Kaylee on Instagram. And also evidence that at least once he visited the bar in town frequented by UI students.
He ate at the restaurant a few times that 2 of them worked at as well.
