Penn has really increased in appeal since I was a kid in Western PA.  Probably because the Philly surrounds have improved.  When I was a college freshman my friend who went to Penn said that a noticeable number of freshmen around her were grumpy and still griping about not getting into Harvard or Yale.

USNWR rankings were a Hail Mary strategy to save a failing magazine.  It worked but created an anti-intellectual nightmare.  People should look for the programs that best fit their goals and disregard the boundaries of ancient athletic leagues.  It's kind of funny that the Ivy League isn't even good at football, which is one of the reasons it exists.[/quote]
