He can still talk to VA members of Congress and the president to push back on policies. The governor could also call a special session to get the legislature to pass bills to mitigate the impact of the layoffs. Right now, he is doing none of those things. The only thing he has done is said that he supports the layoffs and he made a website called Virginia had jobs. A minimum wage job making sandwiches (in Roanoke) 4 hours from your house in NOVA help you pay the bills when you were employed in medical research at the NIH. [/quote]

Oh - you think Spanberger would reach out to Trump or DOGE to change their policies (with success)?  Really?

In reality, what should have been done, and what I suppose could be done, is raising Virginia's unemployment compensation.  It's pitiful.  About $375/week.  If you ever get it.  It can be incredibly hard to achieve. Good luck ever getting a human on the phone too. [/quote]
