I think the coastal preference actually was a big issue. She wanted a big safe mansion with property for her dogs to roam. He wanted a classic NY apt where he could walk everywhere. She liked visiting NYC and he liked visiting LA for short periods, but neither wanted to actually live there. Neither was willing to compromise enough to make the other happy. Don't think he liked being "Mr. Aniston" either. Too big an ego for that, as much as it benefited him (hello, CAA representation). I also think they grew apart when he was filming the Leftovers in Australia. She probably should have gone with him but didn't. Both more focused on their careers than each other. This will be an issue with his new wife. She's ambitious and thirsty as can be. I don't see him ever giving up an opportunity for his partner's sake. And vice versa. Doomed to fail as well.[/quote]

When they got together, the exposure helped his career take off. He was a known quantity in the industry, but at a low level and had had long gaps in his filmography before then. Paps weren't chasing him and People Magazine wasn't covering him. Of course he wanted to take advantage of being hot and worked pretty constantly from that point. She worked too. My opinion: they were too different to make it work in the first place and also didn't prioritize spending enough time together. Plus possibly a mid-life crisis on his end. He seemed off when they split, don't know if that's a chicken or egg kind of thing.[/quote]
