Bucknell?
What a useless suggestion.
Bucknell is near the Pennsylvania Wilds region which is full of hiking and biking trails, rock climbing, kayaking, etc. It's an outdoorsman's paradise. It's also an incredible school that fights way above its weight. If USNWR got rid of useless metrics like Pell Grants and ranked schools based on outcomes people care about like starting and mid-career salaries and Wall Street connections, it would be much higher than #31. In fact it would easily be top 10 among LACs.
Bucknell is a mediocre school. Get a grip, Bucknell booster. You are truly doing more harm than good — everyone knows that you are a paid shill trying to hype a crap product.
Unlikely a paid shill, though it does read like that. Connecting the dots between posts here and elsewhere, I’m pretty sure it’s a young alum for whom Bucknell wasn’t even a first choice. Once committed, though, they set out to aggressively shift the narrative, even if it meant bending the truth. If I’m wrong, then there are two of them using the same language and tactics. For the record I think Bucknell is a fine school. It wouldn’t interest my own kid, mostly because they are drawn to a very different vibe. But I have nothing against Bucknell, and have known some kids (athletic, practical, motivated enough) who attended and had good experiences. Agree wholeheartedly, though, that this poster is doing more harm than good to the school’s reputation. There are Bucknell parents on this board who are quite reasoned and thoughtful, and I’d much rather hear from them.
