Syria has oil and a lot of natural gas. Assad was a Tyrant but destabilization by outside forces will not bring peace and democracy to the people. She has it ever? Israel will take the south, turkey the north and west cost and the US will give the oil fields in the east to whomever they want (even though the oil isn’t that great) it’s a tragedy.
Trum advice was "take the oil" in Iraq.
Iraq won the war by burning the oil refineries. This led to the global economy tanking. It was not subprime mortgages. The recession had started with the 2008 oil price crisis then the domino effect led to the mortgage crisis. Iraq caused the 1992 recession as well which media pundits now admit was caused by the Gulf War and the burning of oil refineries. Supposedly, we are the largest oil producer, exporter, and dont need foreign oil but the evidence shows otherwise. A showdown with Iran will almost certainly cause yet another recession and housing bubble to burst as they have even more resources than Iraq.
