My kid is terrified of dogs. I would be extremely mad if this happened.
Even if the dog was so well behaved that you didn't even notice it was there? We don't necessarily want to hear your children on the plane but, we all have to deal with things we don't want to deal with.
Human beings are different from dogs and you also know that. You're arguments in which you try to equate children with a dangerous dog is ridiculous. We value humans over animals and if that hurts your peta loving feeeewings tfb.
It's not about comparing children to dogs, it's about rights of people with disabilities. That dog is medical device like it or not.
We don't know that this was a service dog. People have been abusing the service dog title for decades. When did dog owners become insane?
Based on information provided by OP and overall knowledge about rules re traveling with animals - it is reasonable to assume that dog was indeed a service dog (most airline tightened rules around emotional support animals, and large dogs were never allowed in the passenger area to begin with). When did pitbull haters lose common sense???
Your question implies they had it to begin with  Ccommon sense isn't so common these days, and anyone who categorically hates an entire breed based on hearsay and bias isn't exactly smart. Their entire point (all pit bulls are evil because of some stories I heard/read) rests on a startling lack of intellectual ability. "This thing is not that" is an elementary school lesson, and yet this whole thread exists. Here's a pit bull being perfectly well-behaved, and it's never enough for the haters.
