Let's encourage BASIS to open more schools in DC.  Even though they have only been around a dozen years in DC, based on the data, they have a demonstrated track record of success.  You can't say that for other charters.

The math scores are misleading, particularly for high school. Here's why.

BASIS tests kids in grade-level math while Latin and DCI test kids in the math class they took that year. At BASIS, all students are taking math PARCC through 10th grade. At Latin and DCI, only students who didn't take Algebra and Geometry in middle school are testing in 9th grade, and only students who didn't take Algebra in middle school are testing in 10th grade.[/quote]
