His reelection in 2018 was a cake, but Hogan unexpectedly defeated the lieutenant governor of the state for governor in 2014.  Pretty sure the LG was more impressive than the owner of a wine store who bought a congressional seat.  [/quote]

You're kidding right?  Hogan defeated an extremely flawed LG candidate for governor.  His signature effort was the roll-out of the MD state health care enrollment that cost the state $125M and was a completely debacle. There were so many probelms with the web-site the processes and procedures for enrollment that only 66K state residents actually were able to enroll.  The state had to lost $30M in Medicare entitlement payments and then the state had to invest many millions more to fix the terrible system.

He was a major proponent of the PPP that approved the Purple Line.

Most of the tasks that Hogan assigned to Brown went from great ideas to lackluster or mediocre implementations.

Brown as a terrible candidate and selecting him essentially handed the election to Hogan.  The only way Brown would have been elected was if the Republicans selected one of their normal completely questionable candidates (which they had done several times).  When the Republicans selected a reasonable, intelligent homo sapiens instead of their usual candidates, Hogan was easily able to beat Brown.[/quote]
Never forget that Frosh would have won but in order to promote Brown the Democrats leaked a photo of Frosh at beachweek and made a big deal about it like he sold public school buildings to private companies that are political donors. [/quote]
