They don’t have any acceptances they would actually consider so not sure it was ridiculous
But isn't that the point of this thread? They clearly didn't make a good list or their DC wouldn't have applied to a school the family won't accept. Why did they apply there? The PP who stated no one needs to apply to 19 schools is correct. Jr parents please learn from this thread. Do the research to make a good list with your DC that includes likelies they actually want to attend & reasonable targets based on their stats. You can decide how many reach schools to include, but that's easy since you know those are lotteries. Doing 19 quality applications isn't possible and would be pure hell for your DC.
Wow. You sure have strong opinions something that doesn’t affect you. 1. 2 of the EA deferrals were on our college counselor’s “safety” list for DC. 2. I did not approve of applying to the school I won’t let them attend. College counselor pushed it and DC made that choice. 3. It’s crazy…as this forum shows. So we applied to a lot of schools to increase chances. We also know we were dealing with a difficult application (very high scores and mid grades) so some of it does come down to luck. Why does this bother people so much?
c Because you think you (I should say “your kid”, but you already said “we applied to…”) deserve a better school. And you made a list that reflects that. If your kid had mid grades you should have applied to schools that would accept them. Instead you just look desperate.
You seem nice. We (yep I feel that invested in my child) applied to wide range of schools and know that DC will end up in the perfect place for them.
