You are correct, PV is a horrible entity. Did you watch the video? There were no cuts during his statement, which was very clear. I grant you, worse case the question that led him to the statement may have been something like, "Don't you feel like you are going against the Catholic Church when you affirm your students?" But that doesn't matter because his words were his own.  His words verbatim with no cutaways:
