Also the topics chosen can be a hit and miss, some really lack substance and end up like a description of a personal hobby. Not sure if teachers are doing a good job mentoring and advising students on the extended essay, I’d suspect it depends on the school.

The program is not bad for writing, but it’s far from what some posters try make it seem.
