High performing kids don’t go to failing schools.[/quote] I know it’s just unpleasant to hear, but AT BEST a kid that’s doing really well at a failing school will be on grade level. Maybe higher if you really really tiger mom it with tutors and extracurriculars. But if you settled for the lowest common denominator for middle school, it’s doubtful you’ll find tutors etc at this point. This is true especially with the current shortage.
