No, I'm not overly concerned about local control-- state-level is fine. Re: free speech, we are in an era of declining free speech, and DeSantis rightly understands that we cant have the left pressuring businesses to take leftist approaches while the right sits on its hands and watches.  Im not really a conservative. Im anti-progressive.  [/quote]

But you're fine with the right pressuring businesses?  The right trying to cancel the NFL, Yeti, Disney, Nike, Starbucks, Keurig, Gillette, NASCAR, Coca Cola, Hallmark, Target, Ford, Doritos, and all of the other companies the right has attacked?[/quote]

It's not an ideal state, but turnabout is fair play.  It would be better if companies just sold their products. But that isnt the reality rn.  We have companies using their power to influence politics and to restructure the economy via ESG. So no, I dont have a problem with DeSantis making tactical strikes to further those goals. I am not an ideological purist.  [/quote]
