He may have been jealous of her, this happens in certain unhealthy relationships (where the man feels inadequate).

She clearly had no idea how dangerous he was. Otherwise she could have just played along until he went to jail, which he surely would be, and then moved the kids with her to DC. I really just don't see how BW benefitted from killing her, which means he just got mad/jealous and then went crazy. This theory is supported by the fact that he clearly had no real plan. [/quote]

I agree!  I think he was jealous of her.  She was very pretty and had a lot going for her.  She seemed to have a lot of friends and probably a great deal of interest from other men.  He was awaiting sentencing of what may have been a prison sentence of a few years and she was probably contemplating how she was going to work and take care of her kids.  Perhaps there were friends and/or coworkers who offered assistance.  I think he snapped and committed this crime and then tried to cover it up.  I think with persistance they will be able to get him to confess eventually.  [/quote]
