DO NOT GO DOWN FESSENDEN AND 44TH ST!!!! The camera is faulty and rigged to take a picture of every vehicle going south on Fessenden heading towards Wisconsin Ave. It doesn't matter if you stop before the line, come to a complete stop or anything. You will be ticketed no matter what. Even if you stop behind the line, the camera will take a picture while you are stopped completely. The only option is to contest because the department knows that the camera is not legitimately working.
It's flashed at me numerous times when I've come to a complete stop and I've never gotten a ticket. I wonder if it takes a picture of every car that drives by, for whatever reason.
You might want to check your license plate online. It is possible that you have been ticketed and they somehow got *lost in the mail*.
Nope, nothing listed. The flash goes off every time I go through that intersection, and I make sure to stop in full, usually for like 5 seconds of no one is behind me. I don't want to take any chances with those cameras.
+1 the camera flashes randomly. I stop the same way and do the full count out loud (as I am training a new driver) and sometimes it flashes and sometimes it doesn't. Makes it really hard to explain to a new driver what is right and wrong when the camera is random.
No, it doesn't. The explanation is: come to a complete stop, behind the stop bar.
It flashes even when people come to complete stops.
So what? You still have to come to a complete stop, behind the stop bar. Also, here is how you know you got a ticket: you get a ticket. Flashing isn't a ticket. Flashing is just flashing.
I think people are wondering why the camera is flashing when no laws are being broken, and are worried that they'll get a ticket for doing nothing illegal.
I have definitely seen, more than once, the camera at this intersection flashing at cars that appear to have come to complete stops. (I've been on foot, and they've stopped for me to use the crosswalk.) So maybe it's just capturing every car that drives by?
