They both looked inelegant, IMO.  I like Jill but the bow headband looked childish.  Carole looked gaudy.

Kate and William have been a couple for 20 years.  Kate kept her head down- as did her family, other than her Uncle Gary- and they were eventually accepted.  Long before MM came on the scene.  It was wrong the way Kate was treated too, but don’t tie her acceptance to MM.  It’s incorrect and it also discounts everything that Kate did since marrying into the royal family.  [/quote]

I just don't agree.  I never saw t[b]he type of fawning she gets now[/b] before MM came on the scene.  Although they did mostly give up on the commoner stuff once she got pregnant.

If she does get fawned over now than she did before MM....maybe its because "they" realized she is doing the job without complaint and with dignity? The juxtaposition of two women in similar roles and their very different responses to the criticism and the scrutiny.....turns out Kate is a gem.

Anyway, back to fashion....Kate is not fashionable but shes found a uniform...styles, cuts, fabrics that work for her.   Isn't that what all us women at 40 want out of fashion?....or maybe thats just me.
