Look, can we please stop being so silly. Hate Notre Dame, love Notre Dame. Think it’s a great school, think it sucks. Whatever. The fact remains that it’s an extremely selective school and that its domestic undergraduate student body is a lot more diverse geographically than just about any school in the country - including every school in the Ivy League. It’s had many students from the Northeast and Far West literally for generations, because that’s where the majority of Catholics are located. California in general. Philly, New York, Boston, Baltimore etc. Just spend a couple minutes googling the actual statistics instead of arguing about how often you see a local kid in a Notre Dame t-shirt. Ridiculous.
It also isn't just a first-choice college for Catholics! That was true probably true 50+ years ago but thankfully things have changed for Catholics and Notre Dame.
+1 Schools like Notre Dame, Georgetown, and BC attract great students from all areas and backgrounds. I think the poster's shirt point was about the pride and visibility that ND grads and their families or even just die-hard fans have. There is a reason Under Armour signed them to a $90 million apparel deal.
