Because they were old enough to have his drunken abuse seared in their memories, and are not inclined to forgive him. They also see their mom hasn’t forgiven him, and they follow her lead. Should she have forgiven him and encouraged them to do the same? If he hadn’t taken responsibility for his actions, why should she? And he took that married 20something model to vacation in their home, where they got married? He seems pretty awful, and entitled, to me but glad the younger kids are spending some time with him.[/quote]
