OMFG. I can’t believe you don’t understand this. The “mainstream media” is owned by corporations. There are literally like 15 billionaires who own it all, and unsurprisingly, they’re sociopaths who just want more money. Using your milquetoast “Yes it would be preferable” is letting them off the hook. They are acting as a less obvious, and thus far more insidious, propaganda wing for the GOP!! Everything is framed to the GOP’s benefit! Traitors to their country: “oh, they were just misunderstood!” Donald Trump stomping us all through four years of awful: “he’s really coming into his own now, he’s truly the president.”

Ev-uh-ree-thing is framed to get the GOP back in power. They don’t care if it’s the end of democracy and America. They just want more money and more power and fewer regulations.
