I think they fall in the same category as the old school American Dooney bags (not the trendier ones, but the old school two-tone leather ones) and old school American Coach bags (the plain leather ones with the brass turnlock), which is a classic staple that holds up and is well made and can be handed down. You see a lot on wealthy older ladies.[/quote]
They are very distinctive and suit certain wearer types very well, but maybe not something one passes down to her daughter. I am admittedly hard on my purses but I didn't do well with Brahmin. Mine was in exotic texture with right angles (not rounded) and they did not keep the finish very well. Ditto the handles and the strap. [/quote]
