Loitering is not a crime in DC, and how can you trespass on public property??  But people who want to sweep away the homeless DO create laws like that to justify jailing or pushing them around.  That's what we mean by "criminalizing homelessness".[/quote]

You think you're so clever, but stop parsing the words. Homelessness, in and of itself, is not a crime. It is not against the law to be without a home. It IS - or should be - against the law to park yourself overnight in a public space. That is the difference, and you know it.

And if people can't figure out a way to house themselves, then yes, it is society/ the government's role to force them into housing.[/quote]
