Yep. There are a whole lot of hypocrites on this website that's for sure.
+1. I find it so funny that they are so defensive about their hypocrisy. Yes, dear, you purchased a 1.2 million dollar, 1,000 sq ft home in upper NW “for the schools”. We all know what you mean. But, hey, you went to a BLM protest and have a little sign in your yard.
Exactly. That’s the point. Nice white liberal parents that get offended when they get called out on their inconsistencies
Do you send your child to a school where literally none of the kids are on grade level?
You're such a toad, I haven't seen a single school where NONE of the kids are on grade level. Oh and that's what differentiated instruction is for. duh. But that would make mini Karen's IQ go down if she was near the poors.
Ok well then you need to look harder because our zoned HS has O% of kids on grade level in math. Will you send your child there? How about instead of using lazy stereotypes about white women, you ask why those schools are failing black kids.
Perhaps SOME white women shouldn't be such toads then and it's also not a stereotype. It is the truth about some white women and honestly white men too but thanks for trying. And how would you know, because of the excellent measurement abilities of standardized testing? Why don't you ask yourself if it's the school or DC failing low SES families? I know perhaps as a white woman you don't know that low SES children, especially children who are not white, start out disadvantaged because their parents read to them less (among many other things) and do not get to help bolster their development as much as the middle class and rich can. Then there is the issue of KEEPING good teachers at these schools, it's so much easier to work at a non-title 1 school. Parents can be a pain in the bum but NOT because they can't help make the school to home connection. Parents are a child's first teacher, so what do you do if that first teacher doesn't have the resources to be a decent teacher? I'm not saying all white parents should send their kids to these schools but why won't don't you lobby as hard as you do to open new little W3 schools for title 1 schools to have more supports? By support I mean, every school has 1 social worker and 1 counselor, at a minimum. Every school has a school librarian. Every school has a reading and math intervention specialist. Every teacher has 1 paraprofessional. These are tangible things that would help these schools but nope the only ones who lobby for this are some W7 & 8 parents who go ignored and the WTU who's now the 'devil's spawn.'
Please enlighten us white people with information regarding all the lobbying efforts you have made on your children’s behalf to obtain the resources you need mention above. I have no doubt that if Title 1 parents came together and protested regarding lack of resources - it would be all over the news. Do consider utilizing the current political climate to better schools.
I have done plenty, I recently got a 10k grant for my school, as well as new computers pre-covid, and I am active in any protests that I can attend. I also teach self-contained students of color and am very active in the special education community and educate parents about the over-diagnosing and placement of students of color in self-contained rooms. And no, the protests really don't actually make the news, no one gives AF. But continue looking to POC to have to educate you, I don't know if you're just old AF or lazy but there's tons of information available online. Stop putting the burden to educate you on random POC and your POC friends.
Believe it or not you would find universal support if you put the hatred of white women aside and focused on children. As to your comments - rest assured, I have plenty of education. But thanks. And no, I will not be digging online as my plate is full. Some facts: DC was just handed an enormous amount of federal money to make schools better - and I hope that your child’s school gets the things you mention. Truly. Know that your argument is not with the white women you clearly resent - but with the Bowser, Ferebee and the gang. These folks have the power to change and always have - they did and do nothing. I also hope to hear the POC moms protested and asked for more from education officials. That might change things.
Or you could put your fake white tears and ego aside.
+1 That PP sounds plenty focused on children. And exactly right that she owes W3 parents exactly none of her time.
Oh please. That PP is all over DCUM all the time. She only trots out the “I don’t have to educate you”’ trope as a rhetorical device. She’s more interested in insults and offense than actually having a dialogue. As a side note, “we don’t have to educate you” is possibly the worst and most nonsensical advocacy position I’ve encountered.
