You can take an extended maternity leave but you need to use your saved leave or leave without pay. Businesses are there to make money. They are not a welfare program. You could stay home for 15 months while your DH tried to become a partner and you wouldn't have to worry about sending your 3 month old to daycare or hiring a nanny during COVID.[/quote] Agree.
