All the Elon supporters will no doubt disagree, but as someone with no skin in this game (my child is interested in other colleges), there is no comparison between Lehigh and Bucknell on the one hand, and Elon on the other. I say this based on reputation and the types of students who go to these schools from my kids’ high school. I am sure that Elon is great for the right student but if my kid was making this decision I would strongly suggest Lehigh or Bucknell.

Elon reminds me of Northeastern, both have done a terrific job improving their images and rankings but I am not sure that the underlying colleges are so different than back in my day. I do think it is important to recognize that any college is what you make of it and kids can have a great experience anywhere. [/quote]
